Daniel Day-Lewis Will Make His Oscar Return

Daniel Day-Lewis has been named a presenter at this year’s Academy Awards. Following last Friday’s announcement that Jennifer Lawrence would present, both the Best Actor and Best Actress from last year’s show are now booked to appear the 86th Academy Awards.

Day-Lewis won the Oscar last year for his stellar performance in “Lincoln”. Traditionally, the four acting winners return to the Oscars the following year, but it was unclear if Day-Lewis would make the event. Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron were relieved to get a commitment from the award-winning actor’s camp. However, they still have work to do. They are yet to book Supporting Actor and Actress winners Christoph Waltz and Anne Hathaway.

The Oscars will take place on March 2 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Ellen DeGeneres is set to host the event and there will be several musical performances throughout the night including U2 and Pharrell Williams. This will be the first time that Day-Lewis will appear in a supporting role in many years. Famed for his Method acting approach, we’re wondering what he’ll be doing to prepare for the big night.
