Trey Songz is an American hip hop artist with an estimated net worth of $10 million. He was born Tremaine Aldon Neverson on November 28, 1984 in Petersburg, Virginia. His mother, April, was only 17 when he was born. His father is Claude. His parents were not married at the time they welcomed their son into the world, but his mother eventually married a man who became his stepfather. Being part of the military, his stepfather’s job caused the family to move around a lot as a child. Trey Songz often did not have any home base for more than just a few years at a time. He was always on the move and that made his childhood a bit more difficult for him than it does so many other kids.
Growing up, he was always very shy. He did not have a dream of becoming famous because he did not like attention. He wanted nothing to do with it, in fact. A very shy kid, it took a lot of people in his life to convince him that his talent singing and rapping was good enough for him to potentially figure out a career in the singing industry. Initially very uninterested in a career of that nature, he was not someone who pursued it with any vigor whatsoever. It was not until his friends and family convinced him to show off his undeniable talent in a local talent show that he was able to see his real potential. At the same time, a producer from Atlantic Records also saw him and recognized his talent. When Trey Songz graduated from high school, he began recording.
His first album was released in 2005. During the time he was working on the album, he was also releasing a few mix tapes and seeing where he might stand in the world of rapping and hip hop music. He was received very well by the general public as well as those already in the game. That’s when he dropped his first album and became an instant musical success. Since then he has released 8 albums, headlined six tours and has been the opening act for some of the most famous performers in the world. This includes rapper Jay Z, artist Usher and even Nicki Minaj. He’s collaborated with some of the greatest minds in the business and Trey Songz is everything that is good about rapping at this point in his life.
He’s even worked hard to become an actor, acting in a few television shows and in several movies. He’s been nominated for Grammy Awards, BET Awards, and many more. He’s a Grammy winner, and he has a number of other awards to his name. Trey Songz does not make much mention of his private life, though he was spotted with Khloe Kardashian in summer 2016 and that means his private life went from being pretty decent to almost non-existent. He has never been married and he has no children that the public is aware of.
