Amy Winehouse lived and died in Camden. And in the month that she would have turned 30, her presence is still being celebrated in the north London neighborhood. Winehouse originally got her start in the pubs and clubs around Camden so this month local businesses will be holding a series of events to honor the fallen singer. The events will also be used to raise money for the Amy Winehouse foundation which is a charity organization.
One such event will be an art gallery exhibition that features paintings, sketches and photographs of Winehouse that will be up for sale. Amy’s parents Janice and Mitch have said that being involve with the charity has helped them cope with the loss of their daughter. The charity itself is aimed at helping young folks nurture their love of music while also steering clear of drugs.
Hopefully the month’s events will be a boost to the charity and can aid in helping future singers to avoid the unfortunate path that Amy Winehouse took.
