Grammy award-winning singer Adele may be set to make her big screen debut in the near future. According to The Huffington Post, Adele, who is yet to appear in a feature film, is set to appear in the upcoming biopic about late-singer Dusty Springfield. Springfield, a soul singer who is in the Grammy and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was born in England in the late 30′s. She released multiple albums and chart-topping singles until her premature death in 1999 at the age of 59.
Rumors about a Springfield biopic have been circulating for months. Several big names have been associated with the project including Kristin Chenoweth being tied to the lead role. Little progress has been made in green-lighting the movie, but now it appears it’s moving forward and Adele’s name has been tied to the role.
Adele is yet to comment on the role, but was also rumored to be tied to another film role earlier this year. Adele is set to appear as a villain in the upcoming film “Secret Service” which may also feature cameos by David Beckham, Elton John, and Taylor Swift. We will keep you up to date on how this progresses with Adele.
