Allison Williams Will star in NBC’s Live “Peter Pan”

“Hey, you know who we should get to star in the new live Peter Pan special we are airing in prime time? That Girl from Girls, you know, the pretty one? Well won’t that be a problem, as she stars in a very adult show, and this will be catered towards family? Nope, it will be fine as long as they don’t have HBO and don’t know who she is. Oh, and don’t worry. She is playing a guy.” Some of the thinking behind hiring Allison Williams to be in the new Peter Pan must have gone as stated above.

Though many of you may not know this, Peter Pan is traditionally played by woman in live theater. They are often smaller, lighter, and more positive and bouncy (which is what Peter was supposed to be). So in going with that tradition, NBC hired Allison Williams to play the forever young boy, who just wants people to be free and happy. The actress herself has aired a little bit of fear, expressing that when it comes to singing, flying, and sword fighting on live TV, what can go wrong? Haha, touche’. The thing that really sells us here is that she will be playing against Christopher Walken as a singing Captain Hook.

So you have a Girls girl dressed like a boy, and you have a singing Chris Walken (and this is all done live.) I can confidently say I will be tuning in. This has cult hit written all over it.
