Ben Affleck Challenges Celebrity Friends for the Ice Bucket Challenge

The Ice Bucket Challenge is the biggest thing on the internet right now. Everyone from your grandmother to famous celebrities are busy pouring buckets of ice cold water on their heads and challenging their friends and family to do the same within 24 hours or else they have to write a check to ALS for $100. Personally, ALS received a $100 check from me (why are we not filming those being written and mailed?). Ben Affleck is the latest celebrity to stand still long enough to have ice cold water poured on him to bring awareness to ALS.

Affleck accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge after he was prompted by Tyler Perry. In a short video he posted to Facebook, the actor stood still and let his wife, actress Jennifer Garner, pour a bucket of freezing cold water over his head. As payback, he went forward to nominate his wife to also accept the challenge. In addition to Garner, Affleck also called out a few of his celebrity friends to go ahead and face the wrath of the cold water or donate to ALS.

He has challenged Matt Damon, Neil Patrick Harris and Jimmy Kimmel to do the Ice Bucket Challenge. His reason for choosing those three friends and his wife is that he knows, “from firsthand experience they look good in a wet T-shirt,”. The hilarious clip is on the actor’s Facebook page for anyone to see. His wife and friends have 24 hours to accept the challenge or write a check. I, for one, would like to see those stars breaking out their checkbooks and writing checks to benefit the ALS. It’s a great, fun challenge to see people pouring ice over themselves, but it’s also fun to see people step up to the plate and actually put their money where their mouth is.
