Beyoncé back on the road after adding new songs to set list

The BRIT Awards 2014 - Show

Yoncé’s back!  After a two-month hiatus, Beyoncé is back on tour. Now included in the concert set list are nine out of the 14 songs from her recently released audio and visual album, BEYONCÉ.

The gorgeous megastar continues her Mrs. Carter World Tour in Europe, which kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland, this past Thursday, Feb. 20. Concert goers across the pond were lucky enough to be faced with the newly restructured setlist and a stunning array of new sparkly, bootylicious costumes.

On Dec. 13, 2013, Beyoncé surprised the world with an unexpected self-titled fifth studio album. The album came complete with 17 music videos that essentially make up a “Beyoncé” movie, with some of the back-to-back videos connecting and a credits video at the end. Sold exclusively on iTunes, Fans were asked to purchase the album, receiving all audio tracks and videos. Apple announced that BEYONCÉ was the fastest selling album ever on the iTunes Store worldwide with an unprecedented 828,773 albums sold in just its first three days. BEYONCÉ also broke the US first week album sales record with 617,213 sold, proving to be a global success and reaching Number One in 104 countries.

I was blown away by the album and still am on a daily basis. The vast majority of the songs are catchy keepers and the tracks and videos are so diverse, it’s stupefying how Queen Bey and her creative team could come up with and construct everything to make this visual album it a reality. The album’s first two singles, “XO” and “Drunk in Love,” are both fantastic and burning up the charts. Other album highlights include “Mine,” a sexy duet with Drake, “Partition,” a fun hip hop/dancehall/electro track, “Rocket,” a sensual, R&B slow jam, and “Grown Woman,” the bonus video that is nothing short of an amazing dance song with a stellar beat and a video you can not turn your eyes away from. In general, the videos are above average and feature the gorgeous mama shaking what her mama (and a clean diet and lots of hours working out) gave her.

Along with the new concert songs come fabulous new outfits that reflect the stunning wardrobe choices the superstar wears in BEYONCÉ‘s videos. New set pieces reflect the video choices as well. For example, the chair dance that Mrs. Carter performs for her husband, Jay-Z, in the “Partition” video can now be seen in the stage show. Songs not included in the new show set list include the album’s first track, the female empowerment tune, “Pretty Hurts,” and “Blue,” the mother’s tribute to her daughter, Blue Ivy, age 2.

Beyoncé will finish her Mrs. Carter World Tour in Lisbon, Portugal on March 27.
