Beyonce and Jay Z are giving fans extra to be thankful for. During the legendary married couple’s new On The Run World Tour, audience members are being gifted with some of the couple’s private, personal footage.
The singer and rapper wowed fans during the opening night of the tour in Miami on Wednesday, June 25. The couple displayed private videos of them receiving their matching tattoos, of their top-secret wedding, and of their daughter Blue Ivy. The video was played on an enormous onstage screen during a mash-up performance of Jay’s “Forever Young” and Bey’s “Halo.”
The husband-and-wife team launched their 16-city tour in Miami at Florida’s Sun Life Stadium. The first song was a sexy rendition of “Bonnie and Clyde,” in which the duo burst onto the stage through a cloud of smoke.
Beyonce’s wardrobe did not disappoint. She opened the show wearing a stunning Atelier Versace fishnet jupmpsuit and matching see-through balaclava (aka ski mask). Queen Bey showed off an impressive array of sexy, body-hugging outfits throughout the show that showcased her amazing physique. She wore numerous jumpsuits, including one gorgeous Versace long-sleeved, multi-colored one, and a denim two-piece ensemble that looked like a police uniform. Designers Alexander Wang, Elie Saab, and Tom Ford also designed outfits for the show.
But it was the pair’s sweet and personal home videos that really set the concert apart. Near the show’s end, there was footage from Mr. and Mrs. Carter’s secret 2008 wedding, which showed for the first time Beyonce’s traditional white gown and veil, and Jay Z’s dapper tuxedo.
The couple were also shown getting their matching “IV” tattoos on their wedding ring fingers before the ceremony. The number four represents the couple’s birthdays, Jay Z’s on December 4, Beyonce’s on September 4, and their wedding date, April 4. The video even showed the intimate moment when Jay put the wedding ring on his wife’s finger.
The superstar couple also displayed images of their daughter, Blue Ivy, 2.
“There were videos of Blue in the pool with her mom, walking holding hands with her parents, Jay Z kissing Blue,” an audience member told Us Weekly. “It was a sweet moment—Jay Z and Beyoncé were both facing the screen watching the Blue videos while they sang ‘Halo.’ It was like they were singing the song to their baby girl. The two of them were beaming, smiling watching their little girl on the screen.”
Wednesday’s crowd included the Beyonce’s former Destiny Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, who is pregnant with her first child, and Rowland husband, Tim Witherspoon. The duo reportedly danced their way through the set on the D’USSE VIP riser.
