Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor chosen to sing at President Obama’s Inauguration

In addition to rocking out at the Superbowl halftime show next month, the Daily News learned the diva will be singing at the President’s Inauguration later this month.  Beyoncé, who is a friend to the Obama family, will be performing the National Anthem at the Jan. 21 ceremony, which will take place at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, according to the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

And, PEOPLE reports Kelly Clarkson has also been selected to sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and James Taylor will sing “America the Beautiful.”

To be honest I think these are excellent selections.   All three people are huge stars but at the same time none of them have any real crazy baggage.   Like I wouldn’t want a potential wardrobe malfunction person up there.  And even though someone like Taylor Swift is a huge star she’d probably throw in a line about an ex boyfriend at some point.  Screw that.

Jan 21st should be a good day.
