Bill Murray Honors Harold Ramis While Presenting an Oscar

Bill Murray is the man. The entirety of the world knows this. Funny, warm, and genuine, he is the celebrity most people would want to hang out with if given the chance. As many of you know Bill Murray was very close friends with the brilliant Harold Ramis, who passed on last week to everyone’s chagrin. Well, if you watched the Oscars last night, you saw when Bill Murray presented. You also saw his slick little moment he used to commemorate his wonderful friend. Bill Murray honors Harold Ramis at the Oscars, and it was a classy and memorable moment for anyone how saw it.

So Bill was on stage, presenting best Cinematography with Amy Adams, and he he slipped in “and Harold Ramis for Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, and Groundhog Day” and he made this look at the camera like “duh”, and everyone went crazy. The crowd burst into uproarious laughter followed by applause. He then looked at the audience and apologized to all the nominees for his side step, and went on to read the winner and not miss a beat. It was exactly why we all love the guy so much. He is just a real guy who acknowledges other people’s humanity while always showing his own.

It was also a moment to remind all the world at the cinematic impact his friend Harold Ramis will forever have on the world. Just a great and very humble moment in a night filled with celebrity worship. It reminded us that, in the end, they are all just like us, whether we know it or not.
