Cameron Diaz on Motherhood and Her 40s
Cameron Diaz is one of the most famous celebrities in the world, and she has been since her breakout role in the 1994 hit movie The Mask alongside Jim Carrey. One this is certain about the gorgeous blonde; she just keeps getting better. In a recent interview Diaz talks about being 41 and about having babies. What she has to say might surprise some.
Diaz, who is now 41, is in love with her forties. The star believes this is the best decade yet. “It’s the best age. That’s when a woman knows how to work things, or she doesn’t care about that anymore. You just stop being afraid. You don’t worry about what men think. You just don’t worry that time registers anything awful,” she says of being in her forties.
With a sizzling career that just doesn’t seem to stop and the body of a 21-year-old, Diaz doesn’t have much to complain about. However, despite being past the age many women start worrying about having babies and settling down, those are things she’s not even worried about. She’s been in the news recently regarding her relationship with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden — brother-in-law to Nicole Richie – but Diaz isn’t in any hurry to get married or have babies.
“A baby – that’s all day, every day for 18 years. Not having a baby might really make things easier, but that doesn’t make it an easy decision. I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother,” she says of her future and having babies with the rocker, or anyone else for that matter. At the moment, Diaz is happy being single and dating casually, and she’s not interested in having children. Her outlook and attitude about aging gracefully are inspiring to women everywhere.
