Country fans everywhere are thrilled to learn that country music superstar Carrie Underwood is pregnant. The former American Idol announced her pregnancy on Labor Day in a cute way, using her dogs as props to tell the world she and her hockey playing husband are expecting their first child. The happy news was big news on Twitter.
“In honor of ‘Labor’ Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier…” was the caption she posted beneath a photo of her two dogs, Ace and Penny, wearing matching shirts that read, “I’m going to be a big brother,” and “I’m going to be a big sister,” in pink and blue.
The country singer and her husband, Mike Fisher, recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary over the summer. This is a first child for both of them, and they are both excited about their impending parenthood. Fisher posted a confirmation of his wife’s pregnancy on Twitter following his wife’s announcement.
“We haven’t picked names yet but it’s looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher” he posted to Twitter. We hope he’s only joking, but in a world where celebrity children walk around with names such as Pilot Inspektor and Blue Ivy, the decision to name their little one Fly Fisher could be taken as a joke or it could really be the name the pair choose for their unborn child.
Underwood is reportedly due to give birth sometime in the spring, and it’s unknown as yet whether or not the baby is a girl or a boy. After her adorable pregnancy announcement, however, we’re certain Carrie Underwood is going to find a cute and adorable way to announce the gender of her first child. Here’s hoping for a healthy, happy pregnancy and baby for the cute couple.
