Say what you want to about the poppy country singer, but Taylor Swift certainly knows how to real in Twitter followers—as evidenced by the more than 39 million that do so. Swift is both glamorous, talented and, in her own way, entertaining, and she uses those traits to help give her followers and inside look at what’s going on in her life—as annoying as it might come across to those who dislike her.

In all honesty, I’m happy to see that the world gives enough of a darn to follow the leader of the free world, Barack Obama, because it proves that people care a little bit about what’s going on in the world. With over 41 million followers, the President of the U.S.A. is unique in that he’s the first President to utilize the social platform for everyone around the world to see what’s happening in D.C.

2. Justin Bieber, Musician

Sure, Canadian singer Justin Bieber has seen a fair share of trouble over the course of his career, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t still intrigued by the kid.  Proof of that is shown with his over 49 million Twitter followers, who, as we all know, call themselves “Beliebers.  What they “beliebe” in is still a mystery to me. But if it’s in reading what their favorite pop star has to say, than they seem to be doing a good job of that.
