In what seems like a desperate ploy for sympathy Chris Brown took to Twitter announcing his retirement after the release of his next (and I guess last) album, ‘X’. According to the Huffington Post, Brown Tweeted, “Don’t worry mainstream America. After this ‘X’ album, it’ll probably be my last album.” Brown said he’s “tired of being famous for a mistake”, referencing his altercation with Rihanna when he was 18-years old.
Brown has actually gone on an epic rampage of what some would call ‘inspirational’ Tweets that appear he’s either headed down Amanda Bynes’ road or has embraced reality. One of his Tweets said, “Aspire to be great and the person you wanna be,” he wrote in another. “Don’t conform because [your] worth is more than any money or status. We live. We die.” At this point it’s really hard to tell where Brown’s head is at.
Brown’s album is set to his stores on August 20th. Keep in mind many a performer has retired and come back including Jay-Z. Personally, I think Brown is looking for some sympathy here. The problem is people are never going to forgive him or forget what he did. Thus, he either chooses to continue making music and sleep in the bed he made or he can fade away into the abyss like his Tweet indicates he intends to do.
