This past Friday singer Chris Brown collapsed at the Record Plant recording studio in Hollywood. It’s being called a minor seized and he was not hospitalized. According to a statement issued Friday night: “Chris suffered a nonepileptic seizure (NES). … His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity.”
This is an extremely tough situation to “diagnose.” Brown is a human being after all and his stress is certainly real. The man’s been through quite a bit in the last year or two. However, isn’t most of this stuff of his own volition? I mean hitting a woman is certain within your control. Smashing the window of an office is within one’s control. And there are countless other incidents like his hit and run case.
The issue in all of this is that it doesn’t seem as though Brown as sought out help once. That to me is the major problem. If he only went to a therapist or checked into some facility. Staying “out there” amidst all of this chaos isn’t going to help. I feel bad for his health but it’s clearly time he take a little more responsibility for himself.
