Texas A&M star and media sensation Johnny Manziel waited patiently at Madison Square Garden while 21 other names were called before him. Manziel was the most-talked about prospect at this year’s draft. Some experts thought he could go number one, others wanted nothing to do with him. In the end, the Cleveland Browns drafted “Johnny Football” at #22 in the 2014 NFL Draft.
What better way to celebrate future millions of dollars and professional football glory than party at Avenue in New York City with hip-hop superstar Drake. Manziel, Drake and several others met up on draft day to celebrate the big day. Drake captured the fun in a photo and posted it on social media with the caption: “To say we made it…. ain’t saying enough”. Eyewitnesses said that Drake even hopped into the DJ booth and deejayed an amazing set to celebrate Manziel’s day.
Drake wasn’t the only celebrity on-hand to celebrate Manziel being drafted. Busta Rhymes, Meek Mill, Birdman, Future, Mike Evans (Manziel’s teammate who was just drafted), A$AP Ferg, Plaxico Burress, Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham, Julez Santana and even Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin joined the fun.
Manziel and Drake have a unique “broship” going on. In an interview with ESPN’s First Take, Drake called the two of them a duo. Manziel even has ‘OVO’ tattooed on his wrist for Drake’s record label OVO Sound — Sounds like best friend’s forever! Congrats to Johnny Football.
