One of American’s favorite sweethearts has a new favorite sweetheart of her own! Beloved actress Drew Barrymore gave birth to daughter Frankie Barrymore Kopelman on Tuesday, April 22. Frankie’s papa is Barrymore’s husband, art consultant Will Kopelman, 36, was by her side as she gave birth. The couple married in June 2012 and already have one daughter, Olive, born on Sept. 26, 2012.
“Happy to announce that today we are the proud parents of our second daughter, Frankie Barrymore Kopelman,” read the couple’s statement. “Olive has a new little sister, and everyone is healthy and happy!”
Barrymore was a wild child, entering rehab at 13 for alcohol and drug abuse, and emancipating from her parents at age 15. But she straightened out, becoming one of Hollywood’s most loved stars and leading ladies. Drew has discussed how her priorities have shifted now that she has a growing family.
“It used to be work first and now it’s life first,’ she told People Magazine. ‘So even though I’m doing a lot, there’s a lot of things that have slowed down. I don’t make that many movies anymore. I’m not really producing right now. And I’m trying to do jobs where I can work from home or be at home by dinnertime if I do have to go out to meetings. You just sort of change your life.”
The Blended actress, 39, also discussed how parenthood brings about anxiety she never felt before. “I’ve never been so worried in my life about making sure that something I care about more than I’ve ever cared in my life is safe and intact.” She also called parenthood “the greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
Barrymore celebrated her pregnancy with a celeb-studded baby shower earlier this month, held at her home. Stars in attendance included Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
