Eminem Tears It Up At YouTube Music Awards

So the YouTube music awards happened this weekend. Safe to say not many people watched it, because I don’t think too many people knew about it. But judging from the talent they had show up , seems it WAS a real awards show. Sort of. I mean, it had awards, and there were some performances from some major names (like Eminem), but overall, it felt very strange, we won’t lie. Seriously though, did you catch Eminem?

ABC talks a bit about it today, but all there is to say is the YouTube music awards need to happen a few more times before they find their footing, and that is okay. Yes, there was Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga and all the typical pop stars you would expect, but really, the only thing that stood out to us was Eminem’s performance of his slick new track, Rap God. Basically, the song sounds like someone hammering on a typewriter. THAT is how fast Eminem raps it, and wouldn’t you know, he performed the song at the YouTube music awards, and didn’t miss a note or a breath. You may need to hear the song to understand just how impressive that is.

Outside of that, though, the YouTube music awards felt nothing if not unimpressive. We are smart enough to know they will find their legs, though. This is, afterall, the internet age, whether you like it or not.
