Five Things You Didn’t Know about Andrew Garfield

"The Amazing Spider-Man" Cast Visit The Empire State Building

Most people first learned of Andrew Garfield when the movie The Social Network came out. He shined, even as an unknown in that movie surrounded by stars. Then, he really came into popularity playing the perfect Peter Parker turned Spiderman in the most recent reboot of that series. But there is much more to this actor than just wearing tights and pretending to fight crime. Here are five things we bet you didn’t know about Andrew Garfield.

British Mom, American Dad

2011 Maui Film Festival At Wailea - Day 4

There is a certain heir of maturity and intelligence to the way Andrew Garfield presents himself. I always thought he almost has a British sense of politeness to him, and there was good reason to think that. Andrew’s Mother is British and his Father is American. So it looks like he inherited his swagger from his Dad, and his manners from his mother. I am both generalizing and joking there, so relax

Used To Date Shannon Woodward

Although he is now well known for having a rather adorable relationship with actress Emma Stone, he also dated an actress before her, too. Her name was Shannon Woodward and she is best known for being on Raising Hope. Not quite sure what went South between him and her, but it could be said he knows how to win the affections of a pretty lady. We wonder who he will end up with next. Sorry, Emma Stone. Spiders are meant to crawl.

Very Down-To-Earth

There have been multiple moments of Andrew Garfield caught on tape, just doing something nice for a fan. There is even footage of him sneaking off set of Spiderman at one point to play Basketball with some unsuspecting kids, just to make their day. In a world where big stars mean big egos, it seems like Andrew Garfield is not quite like the rest of the pack in that sense. We hope that he manages to stay this humble the more and more his star is set to inevitably climb.

Good Friends with Robert Pattinson

I guess heart throbs just like to stick together. The rumor is that these two have been friends for a very long time. Come to think of it, they kind of look alike. With that tussled hair, and raised eye brow look. Match that with the pale skin and shy nature, and you see that they really are alike. Heck, have we ever seen these two in the same place at the same time? They might actually be the same person.

Addicted to Facebook

Andrew Garfield admitted to Parade Magazine that the social network (ironically enough) takes up way too much of his time. While he may have just been saying that to plug his film, The Social Network, we think there was a genuine heir of sincerity in that statement. The whole point here is that he is very much the opposite of Spiderman. He is not some larger-than-life character who cannot be touched. He is just a regular person, like us, who maybe likes Facebook too much.

Hold on, I need to go Tweet that.
