Forbes released its annual highest-earning celebrities under the age of 30. The winner: Lady Gaga took home the title. Gaga raked in a whopping $80 million from June 2012 to June 2013 despite having to cancel half of her ‘Born This Way Ball Tour’ because of hip surgery. According to Forbes, Gaga did earn most of her money from her world tour, which grossed close to $170 million through January. If she had played the entire tour she would have raked in over $200 million gross and been even further atop the list.
Coming in at number two is everyone’s favorite: Justin Bieber. Biebs took home $58 million, while Taylor Swift, $55 million, came in a respectful third place. For the record, Rihanna came in at 5th behind ‘We Found Love’ collaborator Calvin Harris. One thing to note – the top of the list certainly has their hands in endorsements to add on to their gross receipts.
It’s hard to imagine being so young and so rich. Clearly, the pop music market is where a young person goes to make money. For those of you keeping score at home athletes aren’t included on the list (not that it would matter). The highest paid athletes are all over the age of thirty and most of them minus the top few don’t make more than these young pop stars.
