Some celebrities have a way of keeping things a secret and others don’t. However, it seems that many of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood are getting pretty good at keeping their private lives more private than they have in years past, which is an impressive feat considering social media, the internet and the quickness with which news can break. For Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo – who plays Meredith Grey – it’s been a successful year keeping a really big secret.
She and her husband welcomed their second child two months ago! The couple decided to use a surrogate to have their second child. The baby, Sienna May, joins Pompeo, her husband and the couple’s 5-year-old daughter Stella.
“Sienna May Ivery, welcome to the world. We love you more than words can say,” Pompeo posted online along with a photo of her husband, Chris Ivery, kissing the baby girl. They’re pretty good at keeping secrets considering they were married by the mayor of New York City in 2007 and no one found out about it for almost a week. When the news broke that she and her family welcomed a new baby several months ago, Pompeo confirmed the rumor on Twitter.
“Sienna was born via surrogate & I would like to thank my whole @ShondalandTV family for helping us enjoy these first few weeks privately,” she posted to Twitter, along with a heart and a very heartfelt message of love for her Grey’s Anatomy family.
“It’s important to protect the privacy of the surrogate, but don’t forget, I am the same girl who had the mayor of New York City marry me and it didn’t get out for five days. I’m good at that,” she joked in an interview after the news of her new baby girl broke. Good job, Pompeo-Ivery family for keeping your private matters private.
