James Franco Embarrassed by People’s Opinions of Him

James Franco

Sometimes being famous means you can get away with doing things that most other people in the world would never be able to get away with. For instance, James Franco likes to head over to his friend’s homes in the middle of the night and read them stories, despite the fact that they are married couple’s who’d probably like to do just about anything other than listen to their weird friend read them stories in the middle of the night. But that’s not weird, right?

Seth Rogen, longtime friend of James Franco, opened up recently to David Letterman about the fact that his friend is a bit embarrassed about the fact that the world thinks he’s a bit strange and weird. Rogen explains to Letterman that despite his friend’s embarrassment over painting nude portraits of his friends, reading to them in the middle of the night and being enrolled in college at the age of 37 is not a big deal, and people shouldn’t think that’s weird at all. Of course, most people might actually think it’s weird that a successful actor felt he needed to go back to college, but we don’t think that’s strange at all.

Back in 2011, the actor opened up to Stephen Colbert about why he made the decision to go back to college so late in the game after dropping out to pursue his career in Hollywood. He told the talk show host he dropped out of school to become an actor, but that when acting was “all he was doing,” he made the decision to go back to school and earn his diploma so that he “had a brain.” Of course, all the weird things that Franco is judged for really don’t seem so weird in comparison to the weird things other actors and actresses do (remember the blood necklaces Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton used to wear around their necks?).
