Theirs is a love story worth mentioning. E! News and Today Show correspondent Jason Kennedy and his fiancé, Lauren Scruggs, have a story unlike any other. Scruggs was involved in an accident in which she accidentally walked into a spinning propeller on a plane. She lost one eye and most of one of her arms in the accident, and it wasn’t long afterward that she met Kennedy. The couple began dating in 2013 and it was only this past May that Kennedy proposed to his fashion blogger girlfriend and she accepted. Now it’s getting close to the big day and their wedding plans are in full swing.
The couple is in the midst of planning their wedding, their honeymoon and buying a house together.
“We’re just excited and ready for it to be here. But I’m most excited about actually living in one place, because the transition has been kind of frustrating. I’m just looking forward to being settled together,” says Scruggs of her wedding and the new house the couple just purchased together. However, since this is a very religious and traditional couple, Scruggs will not move into their new home until after the wedding.
“I just moved into a house that Lauren and I bought together. But she’s not moving in until after we get married. It’s a big deal – it’s our first house that we’re buying together and that’s really exciting,” says Kennedy of the house and the transition the two are making. Kennedy, 32, and Scruggs, 26, are both very involved in the wedding planning and the decorating of their new home.
“I’m ready to enjoy our night and celebrate and then make sure Lauren knows I love her,” says the groom of his excitement about their quickly approaching big day, that’s complete with 11 groomsmen and a significant guest list.
