2014 Sarasota Film Festival - Day 9 - Red Carpet For Spotlight Film: Road to Paloma

From leader of the Dothraki to ruler of the seas? Actor Jason Momoa won instant fame for his role as Khal Drogo on the his HBO series Game of Thrones. Like many of the characters on the series, he didn’t make it very long until he was killed off, but his time on the show was may have done wonders for his career.

According to several reports around the internet, Jason Momoa could be set to play Aquaman in the Man of Steel sequel. Rumors of the Dothraki leaders’ connection to the DC Comics ruler of Atlantis has began to spread like wildfire much to his disliking. The Hawaiian-born actor apparently denied the rumors and became irritated when reporters asked him about the casting in May.

Hitfix has confirmed that Momoa will play Aquaman in the film Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The website has reported that director Zack Snyder has already finalized designs for the character. Momoa’s reps have either declined comment or denied the rumors.

We’re actually surprised that Momoa hasn’t been linked to more rumors since his days as Khal Drogo. We’re talking an immensely popular role that Momoa was just brilliant in. It’ll be interesting to see if this comes to fruition – it would certainly push me to see the movie more.
