In 1994, the Farrelly Brothers released a film that impacted the world in such a special manner people could only dream of the day a sequel would be released. Well, it’s been 20 years and it appears as if the fans are finally going to get what they want. Lloyd and Harry are officially back. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are reprising their roles as the famous duo in the upcoming sequel ‘Dumb and Dumber To’. Carrey shared the above photo on Twitter with a caption that said, “GESS HUUZ BAK!”. All but confirming the creation of the must anticipated sequel.
According to USA Today, Universal Studios acquired the rights to the project after Warner Bros. walked away from it earlier this year. Aside from Carey and Daniels, the Farrelly Brothers will be directing just like the first film. Rumor has it that the film will follow the duo on a roadtrip and the movie will live up to the legendary first film according to the directors.
A couple months ago Daniels gave an interview with the Associated Press that said Carrey was against doing all sequels. However, in the end it was Carrey who got everyone together and pushed the project. Daniels said, “He turned 50, and that’ll mellow you out, and suddenly he’s going, ‘Let’s have some fun.’ … And we’re going, ‘Great! And the Farrelly’s said, ‘This isn’t a money grab — let’s really write a great second movie that takes the original and then blows it up even further.’ And I think they did that.” We will see..
