So let’s say you are at a Broadway show, and you are so awed by the performances that you want to take a photo and commemorate this moment. You take out your phone, and quietly, securely, you steady your arm and ready the shot. Suddenly, the actor on stage stops the show and calls you out. Everyone turns their heads to look at you, and suddenly, the one moment you never wanted to forget is the one moment you wish you could erase. That is exactly what happened to one Joe Manganiello fan who recently tried to catch some shots of the actor during his recent stint in A Streetcar Named Desire.
First off, A Streetcar Named Desire is a classic, intense piece, and nothing takes you quite out of that frame of mind like someone waving a camera in the audience. Joe Manganiello knows this well, and decided he had enough. In one case, he went backstage and tweeted about how that picture taker was being looked for by ushers to be removed from the show. In another case, the actor went so far as to lean over, in character, and yell at someone to stop taking pictures because of how distracting it was.
So what did we learn today, kids?
Leave the phone at home when you go to a Broadway show, unless you want to anger Joe Manganiello. And come on, no one wants to anger Joe Manganiello. The guy is a house.
