Jonathan Bennett’s Dance Moves Prior to Dancing Were Dangerous

Jonathan Bennett

Everyone fell in love with Jonathan Bennett when he was in the hit movie “Mean Girls,” and they fell in love with him all over again when he appeared on this season’s Dancing with the Stars. What most people did not know, however, is that the former “Mean Girls” star almost didn’t make it into the ballroom thanks to his less than responsible side. Being young means he’s still prone to making questionable decisions at times, but that doesn’t change the fact that what the actor did before Dancing began was pretty dumb – and it’s even worse that it’s all on video.

When he was chosen to be part of this season’s cast, Bennett and his friends decided to film themselves doing a little bit of interpretive dancing to “Wind Beneath my Wings,” (we love it). The actor got high up on the railing of a staircase, and let’s just say that the dance move he attempted on the staircase did not end well. He never said a word about it during his days on Dancing with the Stars, but now the show is over and Alfonso Ribeiro has been crowned the new Mirrorball champion, Bennett has decided to release the video for his fans to see.

After his fall, he ended up a bit banged up and almost unable to appear on the show. His dance move earned him one arm in a sling for nearly two months as well as two broken ribs. Ouch. I guess this just goes to show that when you dance on a staircase railing to “Wind Beneath my Wings,” it’s important to understand that you really do not have wings, and that the wind you’re feeling isn’t going to stop the pain when you hit the ground after falling off the staircase. We’re all just glad Bennett is okay.
