10 Things You Didn’t Know About Jordan Lloyd

Jordan Lloyd

When Jordan Lloyd first appeared on Big Brother 11 in 2009, she was an unknown 22-year-old server and receptionist at a hair salon from Matthews, NC. By the end of the season, she had made a name for herself, found her life partner, and walked away as the winner. Since then she has appeared on a variety of reality shows, including Big Brother 13 and The Amazing Race. Despite being a fan favorite and remaining in the public eye since her win, there is still quite a bit you may not know about her. Here are 10 things you didn’t know about Jordan Lloyd.

1. Jordan is a new mom.

On October 13, 2016, Jordan and her husband Jeff Schroeder, who she famously met on Big Brother 11, welcomed their first child together. Their son, Lawson Keith Schroeder was born via C-section. The couple admits they struggled to find the right name because Jeff preferred names that were “off the beaten path,” while Jordan preferred names that were a bit more southern. Ultimately they opted for Lawson Keith.

2. At first, Jordan was a tad upset she was having a baby boy, but the idea grew on her over time.

While appearing on their Jeff & Jordan TV YouTube channel in June 2016, the couple revealed they were expecting a son. Although Jeff was ecstatic at the news, Jordan was in absolute shock when she first heard the news. She even admitted that she was “a little bummed” and “not happy.” Apparently, she had already convinced herself that she was carrying a girl (and even had a name picked out) and desperately wanted one because she was constantly surrounded by guys. In time, she grew to accept the fact.

3. Jordan used her Big Brother 11 winnings to invest in a home she shared with her mom and brother.

After being awarded the $500,000 prize, Jordan choose to use some of the money as a down payment on her first home. Located in Waxhaw, NC, the 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom townhome provided just enough room for her mom and brother to move in with her. It’s not clear if she still owns the home.

4. While Jordan has been on quite a few reality shows (4 to be exact), she also has a few acting credits to her name.

Jordan was a contestant on both Big Brother 11 and Big Brother 13, The Amazing Race, and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. She has also appeared as herself in a 2010 episode of The Bonnie Hunt Show and has a bit of a recurring role playing a character named Jordan on The Bold and the Beautiful. She first appeared on the soap opera in 2009 and returned twice in 2014.

5. She had a famous classmate in high school.

Brooklyn Decker, who has modeled for Victoria’s Secret and appeared on the 2010 cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, graduated alongside Jordan from David W. Butler High School in Matthews, NC. (Today Brooklyn is married to tennis star Andy Roddick and has a young son of her own, Hank.) Though it is unclear how close the two girls were, they were both on the Homecoming Court together. You can see a photo here [1].

6. If she could switch lives with anyone, she would want to be a country music megastar.

When getting ready to appear on The Amazing Race, Jordan was asked who would she would switch places with if she could. She did not hesitate before answering “Carrie Underwood.” She admitted that she absolutely loves the singer, especially when she sings, and would love to have her talent.

7. To be fair, both Jordan and Jeff moved well away from their hometown when they finally moved in together.

After almost 3 years of dating, Jeff and Jordan decided it was time to take their long distance relationship to the next level. Jeff, who had been living in Norridge, IL, and Jordan, who still called Waxhaw, NC home, opted to make the move all the way across the country to Santa Monica, CA in 2012. However, the duo had a tough time finding an apartment when they first got to town. In fact, they had to ask for help on Twitter. Finally, they found an apartment and got moved in.

8. Prior to appearing on Big Brother 11, Jordan’s life was not exactly easy.

The CBS casting department first approached Jordan Lloyd about applying for the show when they ran into her a bowling alley where she just happened to be working. (She worked at the bowling alley when she wasn’t working as a server or as a receptionist.) At the time, she had not only been sharing an apartment with her mom and brother, but also a bedroom with her mom for the past two years. When she decided to go for it, producers flew her to Los Angeles. This was the first time she had ever been away from her family, as well as the first time she flew on a plane.

9. Jordan has made a big impact on the people of Cambodia.

Since appearing on Big Brother, Jordan (and Jeff) have partnered with People for Care & Learning in a new Build a City project, which led them all the way to Cambodia. (People For Care & Learning is a non-profit humanitarian organization that cares for the poor by combining training with opportunities that give the poor a working change towards a brighter future.)

10. Jordan (and Jeff) didn’t appear on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars because their relationship was in trouble.

According to Jeff, the producers approached them because they were looking for a couple similar to Ryan and Trista Sutter (The Bachelorette). Jeff went on to say, “I think it was just a new experience for us to go on ‘Marriage Boot Camp. We’ve done a couple other reality shows. We weren’t going on to try to fix like a broken relationship we were going on more like ‘Barry’s Bootcamp’ where you kind of tone up at the beach. That’s kind of what we were looking at, we were kind of like to tone up our relationship.”
