Just How did Carrie Underwood Learn She is Having a Baby Boy?

She’s had an exciting life for someone so young, and Carrie Underwood’s life is really just beginning. The former American Idol winner and Grammy-winning country music superstar is going to be a mother, and she and her long-time husband found out the gender of their baby in a very unique manner. Of course, it’s not as unique as you might think, but the way in which they learned their baby is a boy is slightly different than the way most of us use the same kind of information.

While at the doctor’s office for their ultrasound that would check on all the baby’s vitals, they told their doctor and ultrasound tech they just did not want to know what the baby was. Instead, the doctor wrote down the gender of the baby on a piece of paper and placed it in a sealed envelope. While most other couples would go out and hand that paper over to a baker to create a surprise cake or to a balloon-person at a party store to fill a big box with the color that will represent their baby so that they can have a gender reveal party with friends and family, this couple went to dinner.

“Just the two of us in a nicer setting, but we both knew,” she said of how they chose not to find out at the doctor’s office since it’s such a ‘sterile’ location. “So that was just confirming our suspicions. We didn’t really speak of it before, ‘cause we were both just like, “Whatever. It’s all good,” but we knew it was a boy,” she said of finding out that their first child will be a little boy. The singer announced her news via the American Music Awards when she whispered the information to Brad Paisley and he “accidentally” let the world know it’s a boy.
