Did You Know Oscar Edition: Sandra Bullock Has Starred in Four Best Picture Nominees

"Gravity" - Red Carpet Arrivals: 57th BFI London Film Festival

Believe it or not Sandra Bullock made her big screen debut close to 30 years ago. Bullock, 49, looks fantastic for her age and doesn’t appear to be slowing down when it comes to making movies. Hit movies haven’t always been Bullock’s specialty, but she’s been in a few movies that the Academy recognized – four to be exact.

In 2004, Bullock was in the movie Crash which featured an assemble cast. If you recall the movie it was one of those films with several different story lines occurring at the same time and somehow they get twisted together. Bullock is featured as a starring role in the movie, but it was chock full of actors and actresses. The film won the Oscar for Best Motion Picture.

In 2009, Bullock starred in the heartwarming story The Blind Side which was based on the true story of current NFL player Michael Oher. Bullock was a large reason why the movie was such a success. The movie ended up losing to The Hurt Locker, BUT Bullock did win the Oscar for Best Actress. The only time she’s won the award.

In 2011, one of the highest-paid actresses ever, Bullock, featured in the less well-known Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close with Tom Hanks. In a group of incredible movies, The Artist ended up taking home the Oscar.

This year will be Bullock’s fourth feature role in a movie nominated by the Academy. Gravity doesn’t figure to win the Oscar this year, but it did well enough to get a lot of recognition across major film awards. Another nice job by Bullock.
