Well, it only took about a week before we’re back on ’50 Shades of Grey’ movie reporting detail. Two weeks ago, the news of actor Charlie Hunnam dropping out of his role as Christian Grey left the world to speculate who would replace him. Fans weren’t quiet as to who they wanted in the role, but they may have no been heard because the two actors to most recently audition for the role weren’t on their list.
Actors Jamie Dornan and Billy Magnussen were the latest contestants to step into the ’50 Shades’ casting drama. Dornan (pictured above) can be seen on the British series “The Fall” and Magnussen, a Broadway actor, aren’t the mainstream celebrities the ’50 Shades’ nation was hoping for.
With speculation that names like Ryan Gossling and Michael Fassbender could be in contention for the film-adaptation for the super-popular book, it comes as a surprise that casting directors are seeking more obscure names to replace Hunnam. It’s been quite some time since there’s been such controversy over a role. It’s really setting the film up for failure. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some more drama before the role is finally solidified. And to ’50 Shades’ superfans, I think you’re going to have to accept the fact the role is going to be filled by a name you may have never heard before.
