We like Leah Remini. We really do. Not just because her last name sorta sounds like my first name, but rather, because she seems like a cool, no nonsense lady. The ditching of Scientology she did recently was a brave move, and she just seems like she would be cool in real life. Well, we know we must not be the only thinking that, because Leah Remini is to star in her own reality show on TLC, following her behind-the-scenes.
The idea here is to show Leah Remini being herself. Focusing on her as a career woman and a Mom and wife, the show will offer us a glimpse into what it is like to be famous and relatively normal. This is not one of those shows focusing on a train wreck to bring in ratings (look at my last article on here). No, this is more shining the light on a strong, driven women, to help inspire other strong, driven women. It is a nice trend to see someone positive getting a show for positive reasons for once. Basically, you know the Real Housewives? Yes, this will pretty much be the opposite of that.
Most people remember Leah Remini most for her King of Queens role, but she has also got some press for recently leaving Scientology (for various reasons) and honestly, just being a genuine person amid all the fake plastic trees that normally make up L.A living. Just think, maybe focusing on someone doing good for once on reality TV will be a nice change of pace, and it will render the other form of reality TV obsolete?
Hey, a man can dream, right?
