Fox news anchor, Megyn Kelly, is certainly not one to hold her tongue. Although she has been working as a journalist and political commentator for more than a decade, she has gained prominence in recent years for her coverage of the presidential elections and other current events. During her time in the spotlight, Kelly, like many others who are associated with Fox News, has been known for stirring up controversy and being completely unapologetic for some of her remarks. In an industry that is predominately run by men, Kelly has certainly made a name for herself with her willingness to push the envelope. With the presidential election getting underway, there’s a good chance that you’ll be hearing much more from Kelly. Whether you agree to disagree with her stance on things, there’s no doubt that she definitely exercises her right to free speech. Here are Megyn Kelly’s most controversial moments on Fox News.

Is Kim Kardashian a force of good or evil?

Okay okay, there are plenty of people who don’t like Kim Kardashian. In fact, she’s probably one of the most talked about celebrities in the world. However, Megyn Kelly raised some eyebrows recently when, after announcing she’d like to do an interview with Kim Kardashian, she posed a question on whether or not Kim is a force of good or evil. Ironically, there are plenty of people out there who have the same question about Kelly.

Beyoncé’s lyrics are “skanky”

Despite all of her education and professional jobs, Megyn Kelly clearly missed a very important memo: thou shalt not disrespect Beyoncé. With that being said, Kelly came off a little obnoxious when she questioned Beyoncé’s stance on feminism, and whether or not Beyoncé’s attitude reflected that of modern-day feminists.  Kelly also made some questionable comments about Beyoncé’s music and message when she referred to the pop star’s lyrics as “skanky.” As a woman who claims to be concerned about women’s rights and issues, many felt it hypocritical of Kelly to shame Beyoncé for owning her sexuality.

Republican math

If there’s one thing you can always count on Megyn Kelly for, it’s a witty comeback. After projecting a second win for Obama on election night in 2012, Karl Rove refused to believe that the news may be true.  However, Kelly wasn’t about to let him have the last word.  She stated, “s this the math that you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better, or are these real numbers?”  After making her statement, she marched off set and went behind the scenes to take another look at the numbers.  Well, as you already know, Kelly and her team were right about Obama’s win, and Karl Rove more than likely looks back on this moment with embarrassment.

Santa is white…he just is

In December 2013, Megyn Kelly ruffled more than a few feathers on an episode of The Kelly File when she referenced a Slate article that argued that images of Santa should be more inclusive.  Kelly stated, “For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white.”  Later in the segment, she also concluded that Jesus was also white.  Two days after making the remarks, she followed up by saying that her comments were simply “tongue-and-cheek,” but the damage had already been done. Many who heard her comments found them offensive, while others suggested that a brief history and geography lesson was needed.

Donald Trump

Most recently, Kelly made headlines all over the country after appearing as a moderator at this year’s Republican Presidential Debate. During the debate, Kelly put Donald Trump on the spot by asking him to defend some very offensive comments he has made about women.  Kelly stated, “You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals… Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on The Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president? And how do you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton – that you are part of the war on women?” Trump responded by stating, “”I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct.” In a subsequent interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, Trump claimed Kelly must have had “blood coming out of her eyes… blood coming out of her wherever.” With that exchange, the flood gates quickly opened, with some saying that Kelly personally attacked trump. A day later during an interview on CNN, Trump made things worse by commenting, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.” However, despite the backlash she’s received, Kelly has stood her ground and said, “I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism, so I’ll continue doing my job without fear or favor.”
