The Hollywood Film Awards are the one big awards show us mortals don’t know much about. It is not aired, and tends to be more of an industry thing. A way for the talent in Hollywood to stop and observe the other talent in Hollywood. It is also the last big awards show before the Oscars. Many tend to look at it as a sort of pre-game for the Oscars. Often, the people who win at the Hollywood Film Awards go on to win an Oscar. Well, the show happened on Monday, and considering you weren’t there, please allow us a moment to fill you in.
One winner was Mathew McConaughey, who walked away with Hollywood Actor Award for his stunning performance in The Dallas Buyers Club. Jared Leto also won an award for his performance in the same film. A couple other noteworthy winners were Julie Roberts, Sandra Bullock (for her awesome role in Gravity) and Jake Gyllenhaal for his passionate role in Prisoners. It was a night filled with smiles and some genuine doting admiration among superstars. It just happened to be one of the few award shows we don’t get to see. Thankfully, CBS news has some photos of the event.
Relax, the Oscars will be here soon enough, my friends.
