Everyone loves Neil Patrick Harris. Ever since his days as Doogie Howser, he has just won the hearts of most of America. And recent turns on How I Met Your Mother and the cult hit, Harold and Kumar, have only further cemented his legend in the eyes of pop culture. And you know what being famous since childhood brings with it, if you are as hard working as Neil Patrick Harris is? Money. Lots of money. And his funds were not in question this weekend when he bought the most expensive brownstone in New York.
So what kind of money are we talking about here? CeleBuzz is reporting that the brownstone cost $3.6 MILLION dollars. Now I know most of you read the number and think “celebrities put down that much money on houses all the time”, but the houses that go along with that are often palatial mansions, sitting on the water somewhere beautiful. This is a brown stone in Harlem. Brown stones are beautiful, and usually impeccable inside (for best memory of a brownstone from pop culture, think the house in The Cosby Show), and Harlem is a wonderful location, rich with history, but no one has ever plunked down THAT kind of money for a Brownstone before.
But don’t get fooled by the outside. They may look somewhat small, but those things can be HUGE inside.
Plus, Neil Patrick Harris does A LOT of live theater, and Broadway, so it is the perfect location for him, and he thinks it the perfect place for his young family, so we say more power to them. But again, in case your minds weren’t blown, this is the most expensive brown stone ever sold in New York. So not only did he get a nice place for his family, he set a real estate record.
The guy is just THAT good.
