As much as this sounds like a story I would make up on my own, this is 100% true, as reported by TMZ yesterday. Nicole Kidman, the lovely, Australian actress once married to Tom Cruise, got knocked over by a paparazzi on a bike while leaving an event during Fashion Week in New York, and she is so upset about it that she is suing. The story is insane enough in itself, but imagine being one of the people who witnessed that? It would totally be one of those “did that really just happen” moments.
But yes, it REALLY did happen.
Relax, though. No need to worry, Nicole Kidman was fine, and suffered no injuries in the collision, nor did paparazzi and accused biker, Carl Wu. It happened outside of the very swanky Upper East Side hotel, The Carlyle, and there is no solid word on exactly what she is seeking in the lawsuit, but it is pretty safe to say she is not too out of line here. How you would react were you attending a fashion show, dressed to the nines, and upon leaving, someone drove a bicycle into you and knocked you down, in front of crowds of onlookers? Even the most basic cyclist should know that driving your bicycle on the sidewalk is illegal in New York, and as of right now, we know that Carl Wu was ticketed for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, but not sure of what other troubles he may be in currently from being so reckless.
We do know that Nicole Kidman got up, dusted herself off, and decided the paparazzi went too far this time, and we have to admit, we are on her side on this one. When you have to start leaping off sidewalks to avoid paparazzi, something is wrong.
