It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard rumblings about the much anticipated seventh (yes, seventh) installment of the Star Wars franchise. So while we’re interested in the fact that Saoirse Ronan auditioned for a role, this also gives us an opportunity to check on the progress of the film. Unfortunately, according to The Huffington Post we aren’t going to find out as much as we would have liked.
Saoirse Ronan told Sky News that she was amongst an inordinate number of actors auditioning for J.J. Abrams’ latest installment of one of the most popular movie franchises of all-time. She also said that the producers would “chop her head off with a light saber” if she disclosed anymore information. So at this point we’re going to have to wait and see.
Currently, we are aware of the following actors to be rumored around the film: Alex Pettyfer, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ryan Gosling, Leonardo DiCaprio, Florence Welch, Michael B. Jordan and Chloë Moretz. This, of course, includes Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Billie Dee Williams reprising their old roles.
In the meantime, you can see Saoirse Ronan in the upcoming film “How I Live Now” and in the title role for “Mary Queen of Scots”. Star Wars Episode VII will hit theaters in Summer 2015.
