Steve Martin is a new dad, and also darned good at keeping a secret. The 67-year-old actor, writer, comic and banjo player welcomed his first child with wife Anne Stringfield, 41, his rep confirmed to People on Wednesday, providing no other details.
But don’t go thinking that the child, gender unknown to the public, is an Aquarius. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, which first broke the news, the wee one was born way back in December. “They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,” a source told the paper. “Steve’s very private.”
We’d like to take a moment to congratulate Mr. Martin and his wife on their child. At the same time I kind of have to say this. I’m a father. I’m 33 years old. I just couldn’t possibly fathom having a child at the age of 67. I mean there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be a father and I applaud it.
But being 85 years old when your child graduated high school just isn’t fair to the child. Am I wrong here?
