Much like hair loss, talent seems to be hereditary. Right now, Hollywood is filled with actors and directors who are the sons and daughters of other actors and directors. There is even examples of these famous names crossing over into different mediums. For proof of this, look no further than Steven Spielberg’s children. Steven Spielberg’s two children, Theo and Sasha, were just signed to Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation. The two have an indie-folk band called Wardell, who have amassed quite a following in the last year, touring with such well known artists as Santigold and Vampire Weekend. Their star was already on the rise, and being signed to Roc Nation is sure to only magnify that.
Wardell’s sound could be described as relaxing music that doesn’t try to being anything it isn’t. Relaxing and chill, it shows these offspring have much in the way of substance. It blows the mind to think this duo are related to Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw (though son Theo is adopted). E Online talks more about the signing, but it seems Jay-Z had taken a liking to their sound and look, and snatched the band up for his Roc Nation label before anyone else could. He is a brilliant businessman.
Sasha, who is 23, has done some work in film, but seems to be focused more on her music career now, and with good reason. Wardell are primed to take off. With Jay-Z leading the charge, and Steven Spielberg having their back, it seems like there is no way these two can fail.
