It’s nice to know there are still some honest, nice people left on this earth. Steve Martin has recently been in the Pennsylvania area (Wilkes Barre to be exact) where he’s been performing at a concert hall. While riding his bike Martin’s wallet must have fallen out somehow because it landed on the street. The programming director at the concert hall that Martin is performing at said that a man who was working on a city street found the wallet.
The man then called up the concert hall to say that wanted to return it. Will Beekman (the director) said that Martin wanted to thank the man in person but wasn’t sure if he got a reward. We still don’t know the man’s name. Martin’s wallet contained his license and credit cards but no cash.
Steve Martin had this to say: “Honesty survives in Wilkes-Barre. The gentleman couldn’t have been sweeter, nicer, kinder, and his Batman-like rescue of my wallet is one more reason to remember Wilkes-Barre.”
It’s nice to know that Wilkes-Barre is home to people who are simply looking for rewards. This guy just wanted to return a man’s wallet. Way to go buddy! On to the next story…..
