Taylor Swift set a songwriting record this week and it wasn’t for the number of whining boyfriend trouble songs produced. According to CBS News, Swift will be announced as the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s songwriter of the year for a record sixth time. Swift beat out five-time winners Vince Gill and Alan Jackson to be the all-time winningest with the association.
The award recognizes Nashville, Tennessee acts that have achieved Top 30 singles. That seems to be Swift’s specialty as she’s released 14, repeat 14, Top 30 songs between July 2012 and June 2013. She’s also the youngest artist to ever win.
Her six awards will be displayed at the Taylor Swift Education Center, which opens Saturday at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. She donated $4 million to get the center up and running. Swift is a busy girl these days, too. She will embark on a tour in Australia and England soon. This will keep her busy for a couple months. She’s also nominated for six Country Music Awards this year. Clearly, Swift is doing well in the country music world.
