If you didn’t know Terry Crews name, you definitely know his face. The ex-NFL player has been in countless movies and television shows, including Fox’s hilarious new comedy sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine and the awesomely funny movie, White Chicks. If nothing more, you may recognize Crews from when he graced our small screen flexing his pics in numerous Old Spice commercials.

But the days of commercials are long behind him. Crews may now become a household name, as he has officially been named the new host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and the Disney-ABC family,” Crews said in a statement. “Millionaire is such a beloved franchise and I can’t wait to get started as the new host. In addition to my film projects including BlendedBrooklyn Nine-Nine and now being a first time author, hosting has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater opportunity.”

Disney-ABC Domestic Television president Janice Marinelli praised Crews, stating, “Terry is engaging, endearing, smart, and quick on his feet – the perfect combination to lead one of the longest-running franchises in game show history.”

Crews is taking over for departing host Cedric “The Entertainer” and will join the show at the start of its 13th season in the fall of 2014. Cedric, who was on the show for only one season, replaced the show’s original host, Meredith Vieira. Viera hosted the first 11 seasons of the syndicated edition, which grew out of a one-time, prime-time ratings blockbuster. The show has been on the air since 2002.

Crews can next be seen on the big screen in the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore family comedy, Blended. Crews can also add author to his resume – his first book, Manhood, comes out on May 20. The book appears to be some sort of advice book, as the subtitle is “How to be a better man, or just live with one.” According to USA Today, the book is about the “ups and downs of his life and twenty-five year marriage, including straight-talking advice for men and the women who love them.”
