As first reported by TMZ, Alex Band, the lead singer of the band ‘The Calling’, was reportedly abducted and harmed early Sunday morning in Michigan. The report states that Band was allegedly walking to a mini-mart at 4 am when a van pulled up next to him and the passengers inside grabbed him. They reportedly beat him severely and left him at a set of train tracks. His fellow band members, who noticed he was missing later that morning, gathered together to search for him – eventually finding him. The report goes on to state that Band was taken to the hospital with his bandmates at his side. He was treated for injuries and released that day. The incident is currently under investigation.
Some of you may recognize the name the ‘The Calling’ for their 2001 hit “Wherever You Will Go” others are probably far too young to recognize them. The band took an indefinite hiatus in 2005, but has since reunited and is working on their next album. The album features renditions of some of their old classics and is due to be released next year. It has also been reported that Band has struggled with addiction and personal relationships since the band broke up several years ago.
