Tim Tebow Cancels a Speech at a Controversial Church

Tim Tebow has officially yanked himself from a speaking engagement at a church in Dallas … after reports surfaced that he’d be sharing the pulpit with a preacher who has denounced Jews and gays.
Tebow was slated to speak at the First Baptist Church of Dallas in April … but moments ago, the NFL star tweeted:

“While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ’s unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance.”

As much as people rank on Tebow for his playing ability (and they should) has this guy ever really done anything wrong in the public eye?  Seriously.  I feel like he’s the type of guy where you mention him to friends and say “there’s just no way I could ever be as good a person as Tim.”

It’s a shame he plays football so badly.  In all honesty he could probably be one of the world’s most influential preachers.  In fact he could probably start a cult, or even a revolution if he wanted to.   I’m pulling for him in the NFL.  Let’s go Tebow!
