10 Celebrities Who Have Gotten Away with Being Hypocrites
Nobody likes a hypocrite. Sure, everyone has small slip ups every now and then, but some people are just ridiculous. There’s nothing worse than somebody who goes back on something they’ve said in the past just to make themselves look or feel better. While most of us often end up getting stuck with some sort of consequence, celebrities seem to be able to do and say whatever they want, take it back, and say it again without ever getting much flack for it. Of course, there are people who notice when celebrities make hypocritical statements, but it’s not nearly enough, and most times these stars just go on about their business without giving it a second thought. Here are 10 celebrities who have gotten away with being hypocrites.
Megan Fox
Megan Fox has made a lot of hypocritical statements over the years. However, because she’s famous and good-looking, most people tend to sweep some of her off-the-wall comments under the rug. During an interview, Fox once stated: ““I think people are born bisexual and the make subconscious choices based on the pressures of society. I have no question in my mind about being bisexual. But I’m also a hypocrite: I would never date a girl who is bisexual, because that means they also sleep with men, and men are so dirty that I’d never sleep with a girl who had slept with a man.” But on the bright side, at least she knows she’s a hypocrite.

Rosie O’Donnell
Back in 1999, Rosie O’Donnell made a very bold statement about her opinion on the right to bear arms. She stated: “I don’t care if you want to hunt. I don’t care if you think it’s your right. I say, ‘Sorry.’ It is 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun – I think you should go to prison.” However, when one of O’Donnell’s security guards applied for a gun permit, O’Donell stated: “I don’t personally own a gun, but if you are qualified, licensed and registered, I have no problem.” Hmmm, okay Rosie.

Jennifer Aniston
When Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anistan broke up in 2005, she was clearly heartbroken over the whole situation. She claimed that Pitt, who immediately began dating immediately dating Angelina Jolie. Although Aniston accused the couple of forming a relationship she was still dating Pitt, when she began dating Justin Theroux he was in a relationship with someone else.

Jimmy Kimmel
People tend to give Jimmy Kimmel a pass because he’s so funny. However, that doesn’t change the fact that he’s not always right. A few years ago, when Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show hosting career crashed and burned, Kimmel (for some reason) decided to speak out against Jay Leno. This has continued up to the present day, and in 2013 he was quoted saying, “I have a filter mechanism in my head every night when I put together the monologue for our show: If I can imagine Jay Leno telling a joke, then I won’t do it, even if it’s a good joke.” Kimmel’s mean comments towards Leno kind of came completely out of left field, but it’s just pretty weird that he would feel so negatively about someone who in many ways he’s emulated.

Toby Keith
Toby Keith just can’t seem to decide which political view points he wants to support. Although he is a registered democrat, he was all about the Bush administration, and has even wavered on his stance regarding some hot topics in the country – especially gun control. Although Keith acknowledges that guns can be deadly, he also believes that everyone should have one.

Paris Hilton
Just a little over a decade ago, Hilton formed the Vote or Die campaign in order to encourage people to get out and vote. Sure, the program seemed like a great idea, but soon it was revealed that not only had Hilton NOT voted in the previous election, but she wasn’t even a registered voter!

Leonardo DiCaprio
Good ol’ Leo is all about saving the environment and doing what you can to make the world a better place. He’s spoken out several times against global warming and other issues that are effecting the planet. However, DiCaprio certainly isn’t living the most environmentally friend lifestyle. During an interview, stated: “I will fly around the world doing good for the environment,” well um, you flying around the world isn’t good for the environment.

Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has done a complete 180 since her days as Hannah Montana, and it’s actually kind of scary. During an interview in 2009, she told the press: “I would never smoke. I always say that for me, smoking would be like smashing my guitar and expecting it to play.” The following year, she made a bold statement, saying: “Drugs are for idiots, and I’m never going to be that person.” Well Miley, consider your guitar smashed, because you ARE that person.

Jennifer Lopez
In 2002, J.Lo tried to convince everyone that the fame hadn’t changed her when she released her song “Jenny From the Block.” While it is true that she did grow up on a block in the Bronx, the people from the area where she once lived simply aren’t feeling her, and that’s probably because it took her 15 years to actually go back to pay her old neighborhood a visit. It’s time for Jennifer Lopez to own up to the fact that Jenny from the block is long gone, and J.Lo has taken over.

Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil is a bit of a know-it-all. Seriously, this guy has an answer for everything, especially when it comes to building and maintaining healthy relationships. However, his first wife knows a very different side of Phil: the one who was not a great husband an expected her to do all of the domestic chores while he went out to earn the money. Umm, someone needs to tell Dr. Phil that it’s 2015.
