For many celebrities, staying thin is effortless; for others, maintaining a healthy weight is a constant struggle. Faced with the 10 pounds added by the camera, and criticism from the public, weight has certainly become an ins sue for those in the public eye. The constant pressure to remain slim while in the spotlight, has often led to celebrities losing weight, but being unable to keep it off in the long run. However, many celebrities have found the key to maintaining a healthy weight, and as a result, have embarked on unbelievably successful weight loss journeys.  Here are 10 celebrities who have had incredible weight loss transformations.

10. Kirstie Alley

Actress/comedian Kirstie Alley has undergone several weightless transformations throughout her career. However, although maintaining a healthy weight has been a struggle for Alley, she has always been more than willing to share her journey.  In 2015, Alley announced that she recently dropped 50 pounds, and plans to keep the weight off for good.  Alley, who says that Jenny Craig is to thanks for her slimmed down frame, stated: “This time it’s different. My goal is to keep this and maintain this throughout my life. … I feel like I’ve conquered that now. I’m sort of hardheaded. You know, when I used to do drugs, it took me a while to quit, quit, quit — and then it was done. And I feel like that’s occurred for me [with my weight now].”

9.  Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks has transformmed in more ways than one since first coming into the public eye.  At just 17 years-old, Sparks gained mainstream recognition as a contestant on Fox’s American Idol. After winning the show, Sparks released her self-titled debut which spawned several hit singles.  However, by the time she was 24, Sparks expressed a desire to drop a few pounds in order to preserve her health.  In 2014, after dropping 50 pounds, Sparks revealed that she was happy with herself and feeling better than ever.

America Ferrara, well-known for her role as Betty Suarez on the hit series, Ugly Betty, struggled with her weight for years. However, the public seemed to embrace Ferrara’s ‘curvy’ shape, and she seemed to be very comfortable in her skin.  In 2011, Ferrara received a lot of backlash when she decided to abandon her shapely figure, just in time for her wedding to actor Ryan Piers Williams.  Ferrara, who had also previously slimmed down in 2008, stated: “For me it’s not about looking like a supermodel – it’s about feeling good about who I am naturally.”

Raven Symone has been in the public eye for more than 20 years.  Originally famous for her role as Olivia Kendall on the famous Cosby Show, Symone eventually went on to have her own popular sitcom on the Disney Channel.  However, by the time she reached her teenage years, Raven’s weight had become an issue, and she often received criticism for not being thin enough. In 2011, Raven Symone silenced the naysayers when she dropped an incredible 70 pounds.  Symone attributes her weightless to her desire to lead a healthier lifestyle, and says that she will be happy in her skin no matter what size she is.

6. Randy Jackson

Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson has undergone a drastic transformation since first appearing on the show in 2002. After years of complications from diabetes, Jackson decided to undergo gastric bypass surgery in 2004.  As a result of the surgery, Jackson lost over 100 pounds, and has significantly improved his health.

5.  Rosie O’Donnell

Rosie O’Donnell, well-known for her big personality, was once equally as well-known for her big size.   However, after suffering a heart attack, O’Donnell knew that it was time for a change.  After undergoing gastric sleeve surgery in 2013, O’Donnell has lost a considerable amount of weight. Now down more than 50 pounds, O’Donnell admits that maintaining her weight is a constant struggle.

4. Jonah Hill

Things were suddenly very serious for famous funny guy Jonah Hill when those close to him began to worry that his weight had spiraled out of control.  After dropping 40 pounds in 2011, Hill had regained nearly double the pounds and was at his heaviest weight.  Amazingly, Hill managed to drop 30 in less just two months.

3. Star Jones

Star Jones, former co-host of ABC’s The View, made an incredible weight loss transformation back in 2003.  However, it wasn’t until 2012 that Jones revealed that her weight loss was a result of gastric bypass. Jones said that she chose to keep her surgery a secret because she feared that she would not be able to keep the weight off.  Fortunately, Jones who once shared: “My greatest fear was that I would die in my apartment alone from a stroke or a heart attack – too big to get to the phone. And I made up my mind that whatever it took, I was gonna lose that weight,” has been able to keep the pounds off.

2. Drew Carey

In 2010, actor/comedian Drew Carey shed 80 pounds after he decided that “being fat sucks.”  Carey attributes his weightless to a strict no carb diet and having a regular workout schedule.  Since losing weight, Carey has said: “I like being skinny. I was sick of being fat on the camera. Really, I just got sick of it. Once I started losing weight, again, like once I started dropping a couple pant sizes, then it was easy ’cause once you see the results, then you don’t wanna stop.”

1. Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson rose to fame in 2004 when she appeared as a contestant on Fox’s American Idol.  Although Hudson did not finish in first place, her stint on Idol allowed her to explore other possibilities.  She landed a starring role in the 2007 film remake of the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, and eventually earned an Oscar for her performance. However, after years of being criticized for her weight, Hudson decided to it was time to drop a few pounds.  After joining Weight Watchers, Hudson underwent an incredible transformation, and went from a size 16 to a size 6.
