Many of the world’s most popular celebrities have achieved such status as a result of a talent or achievement that has set them apart from almost everyone else.  However, modern times have given rise to a new kind of celebrity.  Several of today’s most noteworthy celebrities are famous for absolutely nothing other than simply being famous.  Some of these celebrities have become part of daily conversations, and their every most is now considered news.  Unfortunately, this phenomenon seems to be increasing with the use of social media and other forms of instant communication. Here are 10 celebrities who shouldn’t be famous at all.

10. Bobby Schmurda

In 2014, New York based Bobby Schmurda broke onto the music scene with his debut single “Hot…” The song quickly became popular and even spawned a dance which has been coined “the schmoney dance.”  However, despite becoming extremely popular, many wonder (and rightfully so) how out of all the bad rap lyrics floating around, why were Bobby Schmurda’s the one to make it big? Since rising to fame, Schmurda has unfortunately has some run-ins with the law and is currently at risk of serving an 8-25 year prison sentence.

9.  Nicole Richie

Since then she has appeared in oner reality series and has even embarked on several business ventures.  However, even after more than a decade of enjoying fame, most people are still unclear on what it is that Richie is famous for.

8.  Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon has come a long way since his days as a star on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series, All That.  Now an accomplished business man, Cannon has created several TV shows including MTV’s popular, Wild ‘N Out. 7. Wendy Williams

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi is best-known for being a member of the cast of MTV’s hit reality series, Jersey Shore.  When the show ended in 2012, Snooki had become one of the show’s most popular characters and landed a spin-off series with her best friend and fellow Jersey Shore cast member, Jennifer ‘JWoww’ Farley.  Now in its fourth season, Snooki & JWoww continues to be a popular series, and Snooki’s fame continues to grow.

5.  Amber Rose

For the last several years, it seems like Amber Rose’s every move has been fodder for some sort of celebrity gossip publication.  Rose instantly became a celebrity in 2008 when she began dating music superstar, Kanye West.  Almost immediately after the couple split in 2010, rose began dating Wiz Khalifa, another rap-star with several hits to his name.  Unfortunately, the couple, who married in 2013, recently announced that they have ended their marriage.  Because Rose has no actual claim to fame, many have accused her of using her relationships with famous men as a means to create her own celebrity.

4. Teyanna Taylor

Teyanna Taylor made her first TV appearance in 2007 on an episode of MTV’s My Super Sweet 16.  The show, which depicted elaborate 16th birthday parties, followed Taylor as she worked to turn her birthday party into a dream come true.  During the show, it was revealed that Taylor had signed a record label with Pharrell Williams’ Star Trek Entertainment; however, at that point she had not released any music. Since then, Taylor has managed to remain in the spotlight, and in 2014 she released her debut album, VII.

2. Paris Hilton

During the early 2000s, Paris Hilton was the most well-known socialite in the United States.  After rising to fame for her role in the reality TV show, The Simple Life, Hilton made appearances in films such as The Hillz and House of Wax.  Hilton, who was extremely wealthy even before becoming a celebrity, has used her time in the spotlight to build her personal brand and attract attention to her business ventures.
