Bud Light Hotel Hosts The Playboy Party With Performances By Snoop Dogg, Warren G And Flo Rida

The Real Housewives franchise has become one of the most popular in reality TV.  Since the debut of The Real Housewives of Orange County in 2006, the concept has taken over the airwaves. With six current offerings, the franchise has cast a wide net on the reality TV world, and has found a group of “housewives” from every region in the country.  Although each series has its own unique offerings and cast members, the shows have become a hit amongst millions of fans who find the groups of wealthy women to be endlessly entertaining.  However, there is much more to all of the Real Housewives shows than just good times and giggles.  Here are 10 of the most controversial real housewives ever.

Melissa Gorga Previews The Melissa Gorga Jewelry Collection For HSN

Melissa Gorga

Since joining the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is season three, Melissa Gorga has ruffled some feathers. Whether arguing with her cast mates, or stretching the truth, Gorga has become popular amongst fans for what seems to be all the wrong reasons.  In 2014, Gorga made headlines after it was revealed that she and her husband, Joe, could not afford to build the dream house they had been hoping for.  Instead, the couple was forced to live in a much smaller rental property.

"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" New York Premiere - Inside Arrivals

Danielle Staub

Although she was only on the show for two seasons, former New Jersey housewife, Danielle Staub caused a lot of controversy during her time as a cast member.  While on the show, it was revealed that in a past life, Staub was arrested for her involvement in illegal drug sales and an illegal escort service.  Although Staub denied many of the allegations regarding her charges, fans weren’t sympathetic.  Her bad attitude and inability to get along with other cast members (think Teresa Giudice table flip) made it nearly impossible for her to win over the hearts of fans.

Aviva Drescher

Former Real Housewives of New York cast member, Aviva Drescher, certainly didn’t make a lot of friends or fans during her two seasons on the show. Her bad attitude seemed to be a natural repellent for everyone around her. Although her tenure was short-lived, Drescher will be best remembered for removing and throwing her prosthetic leg in a moment of frustration.  During an interview, Drescher stated: “I think me getting angry and throwing my leg on the table was really funny and crazy. I get a hoot out of it. But of course, I was definitely brought to the end of my rope, or the end of my leg so to speak.”

Carlton Gebbia

For some reason, former Real Housewives of  Beverly Hills cast member, Cartlon Gebbia, just didn’t seem to be a good fit for the show. As a result, Gebbia was fired from the show, although she claims that Bravo producers have since come back to her begging for her return.  However, many fans don’t seem to miss (or remember) Gebbia, so there’s a good chance producers haven’t been beating down her door.

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville always seems to be in the middle of a dramatic situation.  The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star found herself in a messy love triangle when her ex husband, Eddie Cibrian, left her to pursue a relationship with country singer, LeAnn Rimes.  However, despite trouble in her personal life, Glanville has never been too busy or distracted to find herself in heated arguments with her cast mates.

In 2014, The Real Housewives of New York City cast member, Bethenny Frankel, found herself in the middle of some controversy when a photo of her revealed a shockingly thin frame.  Frankel, who founded the Skinnygirl cocktail company, has been criticized for promoting unhealthy body images.  However, along with her questionable public image, Frankel is often a target for fans who find themselves annoyed by her behavior on the show.

Lisa Wu Hartwell

Lisa Wu Hartwell appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta during the show’s first two seasons.  However, she ultimately decided to leave because she felt that she was not being portrayed accurately, and producers often attempted to manipulate situations for dramatic effect.  Although her time on the show was brief, Hartwell quickly gained a reputation for her fearlessness.  Hartwell had no problem standing up to any of her fellow cast members, and even after leaving the show, she has had several heated exchanges with queen of the housewives, NeNe Leakes.

Tamra Barney Judge

Tamra Barney Judge has been dubbed the ‘mean girl’ of the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County.  Her obnoxious and manipulative behavior has driven a wedge between her and her co-stars and it seems like there’s no chance for redemption.  During an interview discussing her role as the show’s villain, Judge made no apologies for her behavior and insisted that she was doing nothing more than being “true” to herself.

Kenya Moore

Kenya Moore may be one of the most entertaining people on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she’s also one of the most controversial.  Moore can’t seem to stay on anyone’s good side, and as a result, she has become the butt of many of the show’s jokes.  During the fifth season, she made headlines when several sources accused her of  paying Walter Jackson to be her boyfriend, although she later denied the allegation.

Michaele Salahi

Michaele Salahi became part of one of the biggest Real Housewives controversies ever when she and her then husband crashed a dinner party at the White House. Their ability to breach White House security made international news as people all around the world were shocked that two uninvited guests could enter a private event so easily. According to sources, Salahi’s behavior is what resulted in The Real Housewives of D.C. being pulled from the air after just one season.
