10 Things Sonja Morgan Doesn’t Want You to Know

Row NYC Debuts With Ron Galella, Paparazzo Extraordinaire!

With each season of The Real Housewives of New York, it seems like there’s always a new cast member who gets thrown into the spotlight. Whether by choice or by force, one of the women usually becomes the target of lots of attention by both fans and bloggers. As this season draws to a close, it looks like it’s been Sonja Morgan‘s turn to be at the center of things. For better or for worse, Sonja has spent a lot of time in Internet blogs and articles, and the world seems to have an awful lot to say about her.  However, even with a life that has become available to the public, Sonja probably still has a few things she wishes never got out. Here are 10 things Sonja Morgan doesn’t want you to know.

She’s dramatic

As most viewers know, being dramatic is a prerequisite to being on pretty much any reality TV show that has ever existed. However, while there are plenty of people who want to be reality stars, there aren’t many people who actually want to admit to be dramatic. Well, if being a cast member on the RHONY has proven one thing, it’s that Sonja Morgan can be extremely dramatic. Although she portrays herself as a business savvy and sociable person, she often finds herself in the mix of some pretty off the wall situations.

She filed for bankruptcy

Lots of people file for bankruptcy, and it doesn’t mean that a person legitimate have 0 dollars and 0 cents to their name. However, when you’re on a show that’s basically all about how wealthy you are, filing for bankruptcy is the last thing you want to do – especially when the whole world is going to know about it. As a result of her bankruptcy, Sonja had to let go of two of her properties. When she was going through her struggles, many people – including her cast mates – were wondering what was going on with Sonja’s financial situation, and many people believed that she was in denial.

She was a hostess at a steak house

According to some sources, before coming to reality TV, Sonja was the hostess at one of the ‘best’ steak houses in New York City. However, that’s certainly not a glamorous line of work for someone who finds money and status so important.

She was sued by a production company

Although Morgan prides herself on being a skilled business woman, she’s definitely had a few bumps in the road when it’s come to making successful business deals. In 2010, Sonja was sued by a production company after a movie she was responsible for was never made. Apparently, Sonja was supposed to be getting John Travolta to star in a film, but could not meet some of his demands and failed to get him to sign the contract. The company sued to the tune of $7 million dollars – and won the law suit which ultimately led to her bankruptcy.

She was sued by her ex-husband

It looks like the law just isn’t on Sonja’s side. Aside from being sued by the production company, Sonja was also sued by her ex-husband, John Adams Morgan, for $6.2 million. Apparently, Morgan felt that he deserved some of the money Sonja made from the sale of their former home in France. However, in this situation, Sonja was able to fire back with the fact that she felt her husband also owed her money from their divorce settlement.

She can be somewhat of a hater

Aside from the drama, there are also plenty of haters in the reality TV world. Because staying relevant often relies on keeping someone else’s name in your mouth, plenty of reality TV stars keep themselves in the blogs by attempting to dish dirt on other people. Throughout her time in the show, Sonja has definitely had some choice words for some of her cast members, but in her defense, they haven’t always had nice things to say about her either.

She had to rent out her home

While going through her legal and financial troubles, Sonja attempted to sell her Manhattan town home. However, when she wasn’t able to find a buyer, she chose to rent it out instead. While this wouldn’t be a huge deal at all to most people, in Sonja’s world – any sign that you’re struggling is definitely not something that is taken lightly.

She has a thing for younger men

Unfortunately, being a cougar isn’t something that people are exactly cheering over. Although Morgan’s ex-husband is 33 years older than her, after her divorce, it seemed like she had a thing for younger men – much younger. Although the relationship seems to be over, for a while Sonja was dating Dominik Persy, who is a little more than 25 years younger than her.

She’s nosy

Well, it looks like Sonja just can’t keep her nose out of the people’s business. Recently, she’s been all over the Internet for comments she made about her co-star, Kristen Taekman’s husband. Apparently, Sonja claimed that she knew Taekman’s husband was a cheater, and that she could “see it coming.” She has since said that she knows she was wrong for getting in the couple’s personal business, but unfortunately for Sonja, what’s said is said.

Two words: toaster oven

People get worked up about all sorts of things, but Sonja Morgan and her toaster oven might be one of the most ridiculous and hilarious things to hit reality TV. For quite a while, Sonja had plans to release a toaster oven, but the project never quite took off the way she planned. Now it’s become a very sensitive subject between Sonja and, well, the rest of the world.
