10 of the Youngest Celebrity Grandfathers

Male celebrities are typically known for being sex symbols. They’re handsome and they’re famous, and they can have anything they want in life. They are handsome when they’re young, and through the magic of good genes, potential plastic surgery and all the other benefits that having money in the bank can buy (a private chef, a trainer, etc.), they become even more handsome when they age. Women are very much the same, but we’re just not talking about them at the moment. What we are talking about, though, are some of Hollywood’s leading men in different industries, and the fact that some of them are already grandfathers at ages that are a little bit ridiculous. My husband is pushing 33 and I cannot imagine him as a grandfather (probably because we have four very small children) but some men in Hollywood were close to being grandfathers at this very age. It’s crazy; but it’s true. Did you know that these Hollywood heartthrobs are already grandfathers?

CeeLo Green – 35

In 3 years, I’ll be 35. I will not have grandkids at that age – my oldest will only be 10. That’s what makes it just a little bit crazy to imagine that CeeLo welcomed his grandson at the age of 35. I don’t know how old his daughter was at the time, but it’s safe to say that she was either a very young teen or CeeLo was a teenager when he welcomed his own daughter into the world. He gets the esteemed title in this list of the youngest grandfather in Hollywood. He also gets the title of potentially most immature grandfather in Hollywood given his track record of breaking the law and experiencing legal issues.

Kiefer Sutherland – 39

Obviously, he’s not 39 anymore. But that’s how old he was when his daughter had her first son. Now he’s a bit older and his grandsons are a bit older, and he’s been known to say that having grandkids has been a lot of fun. When I’m 39, my oldest child will be only 15. It’s crazy to imagine having kids old enough at that age to have kids of their own.

Brett Favre – 40

In 2010, his daughter gave birth to her first son, who made him a grandparent at the tender age of 40. It’s a little daunting to realize that you’re still so young; young enough to be a parent with small kids, and you have a grandchild born into your family. At least he’s young enough to really enjoy it. The football star loved his job, but he’s loving his job as a grandparent a lot more than he loved football, and his wife is a big fan of her new role in life.

Joe Jackson – 42

He’s nowhere even close to this age anymore, but he was 42 when his first grandchild was born back in the early 1970s. That means his oldest grandchildren are older than me, and he was not that much older than me when he became a grandfather for the first time.

Pierce Brosnan – 44

It’s still pretty young to become a grandparent, in my opinion. Doesn’t it seem a bit like grandparents should be at least in their 50s, but probably in their 60s when they are given this esteemed title? So many parents these days aren’t even parents half their lives before they become grandparents. It’s crazy how early people are having babies anymore.

Kid Rock – 44

First and foremost, was anyone even aware of the fact that he had a child? I wasn’t; but apparently he does. And this child is old enough to have children of her own, so that’s interesting. At the age of 44, the rock star and former husband of Pamela Anderson went from being a rock star to being a grandfather. He says he’s cool with it, though, since it kind of works with his “redneck” status. Apparently, being a grandparent when you’re barely old enough to be a parent is a redneck thing.

Jim Bob Duggar – 44

It only makes sense that he’d be a grandfather at an early age. He does, after all, have 19 kids – and might still be counting. He’s a bit older now, and he has many grandchildren. At some point, this is a man who will very likely end up with dozens, if not hundreds of grandchildren. If all his kids decide to take his path in life and have as many kids as God will give them, he could have as many as 361 grandchildren. Of course, by the time his youngest is able to have children, his oldest grandchildren will also be having children of their own. The math in this equation is actually giving me a panic attack right now.

James Brolin – 47

When his kids began having kids of their own, the man who likes to stand by Barbra Streisand’s side in life became a grandfather. He certainly is not the youngest in Hollywood to have grandchildren, but he is among the youngest.

Donny Osmond – 47

Back in 2005, the famous Osmond was given the role of grandfather for the very first time. It was a big moment for him, and it hasn’t slowed down since. He’s now the proud grandparent of several little ones, and he’s loving every second of it. It’s a long way from where he began as a teen heartthrob my own mother loved when she was growing up. I guess it just goes to show that even when people don’t look as if they are aging, they really are.

Jim Carey – 47

When his 22-year-old daughter gave birth to her first child a few years ago, Carey was only 47. That makes him a marginally young grandparent at this age, but not the world’s youngest. However, it is kind of amazing to think of this funny man as a grandparent. And what a lucky little grandchild this kid is to have a grandfather who loves him and can make him laugh like Carey can.
